Kagleys Chapel Baptist Church
Our
Story
Get to Know Us
Nestled in the heart of the community since 1882, Kagleys Chapel Baptist Church first opened its doors in a quaint, one-room building constructed in 1890. As the congregation grew, so too did the church, which saw the rise of a new building in 1908, followed by the addition of a sturdy, concrete-walled basement in 1948. Over the years, this beloved sanctuary has seen continuous enhancements, lovingly supported by monetary gifts and its devoted members' elbow grease.

The spirit of Kagleys Chapel was tested on September 27, 2010, when an electrical fire ravaged the church, leaving little more than memories in its wake. Yet, the flame of community burned stronger than ever. Just days after the tragedy, the resilient congregation gathered, spirits undampened, at the nearby, vacant Centenary Church building. This temporary home buzzed with the energy of plans and prayers as restoration began. The site ground-breaking on March 20, 2011, marked the first step toward a new chapter, culminating in the joyous completion of the current church building on January 8, 2012. Kagleys Chapel continues to stand as a beacon of hope and a testament to its congregation's enduring strength and unity.

We believe that sanctification is a progressive process by which the believer is made a partaker of God's holiness and begins in regeneration, which is carried on in the hearts of believers by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.

ANGELA CORNETTE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
College Scholarship Program
Angela Conette was a seventeen-year-old Believer in Christ who was suddenly taken from her family in an automobile accident as she was on her way to church. She was very active in the church and had plans and high expectations for the youth program of this church. After her death, Kagleys Chapel thought it would be most fitting to establish a scholarship fund in her memory. In this way, Angela's life and her testimony can go on touching others as she touched those people who knew and loved her.
The Angela Cornette Memorial Scholarship was established in 1991 by Kagleys Chapel Baptist Church to provide financial assistance and to encourage continuing education to graduating seniors and college students who are members of our church.
